November - December
Dear Parents and Students,
It is already the middle of November - a month since I had the opportunity to meet with all of you during conference week. It was wonderful getting to share the accomplishments of your children with you.
We have been studying maps and discussing American symbols. We examined the voting process, and we participated in the Kids Voting program and voted for President.
We will begin talking about Thanksgiving and the similarities and differences as to how it is celebrated now compared to the First Thanksgiving feast. The children will share how they personally celebrate Thanksgiving.
On Wednesday, the 26th, the first grade classrooms will spend a portion of the day making Thanksgiving crafts in each of the first grade classes.
Fireman Matt is visiting us on the 17th. He will teach the children about fire safety and the basic rules to follow should they be involved in a fire incident.
Our parent volunteers have been helping the children with reading and helping me with a myriad of things on a daily basis. My sincere thanks to all.
